Transfer Latest: Kaizer Motaung Breaks Silence on New Signing - Details

 Kaizer Chiefs have maintained a low profile during the current January transfer window, with the club’s technical team reiterating that they are satisfied with the squad at their disposal. While rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates have been more active in the market, Amakhosi have focused on stability rather than major reinforcements. The club’s approach has been backed by recent results, including a 1–0 Betway Premiership victory over Golden Arrows, which lifted Chiefs to third place on the league standings and boosted confidence ahead of the second half of the campaign.

Chiefs did, however, confirm the arrival of 20-year-old Xhosa Manyana, who has joined the club on loan from Cape Town City. Manyana will feature for the club’s DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) side for the remainder of the season as part of a strategy to strengthen the reserve team. Sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr explained that the decision to bring in Manyana was aimed at reinforcing the club’s youth structures rather than the senior squad. “We felt the need to augment our DDC squad for the latter part of the season, and we are delighted to bring in a player like Xhosa to supplement the talent we already have within our reserve team structure,” Motaung Jr said. “We welcome Xhosa to Kaizer Chiefs and look forward to seeing the best of his undoubted abilities.”

Despite speculation surrounding possible late signings, Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze played down the likelihood of further transfer activity, insisting that the technical team is content with the current group of players. Kaze also addressed criticism directed at the coaching setup, defending both himself and fellow co-coach Ben Youssef. He expressed frustration at being undermined by some sections of the media but remained confident in the work being done behind the scenes. With Chiefs still firmly in the title race, the club appears committed to backing its existing squad as they look to challenge strongly in the latter stages of the season.
