Saleng has already signed a pre-contract with another team

 The ongoing contract dispute between Monnapule Saleng and Orlando Pirates has taken a new turn, as it seems the winger’s refusal to sign a contract extension is the central issue behind his rift with the club. Reports indicate that Saleng feels the club’s offer does not reflect his value, especially given that his current salary is reportedly less than R100,000 per month. A source close to the situation suggests that Saleng has already signed a pre-contract with another team, further indicating that his time at Pirates is coming to an end.

Saleng joined Orlando Pirates from Free State Stars during the 2021/2022 season, although his journey initially included a loan spell with Moroka Swallows. Upon his return for the 2022/2023 season, Saleng quickly became one of the key figures in the Pirates squad, showcasing his talent and ability on the field. One of his standout performances came in the MTN8 semi-final, where he scored a brace against Mamelodi Sundowns. This performance helped him cement his status as a vital player for the team.

In the final of the MTN8 against AmaZulu, Saleng produced a stunning free-kick, contributing to his team’s success. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in the Nedbank Cup final, providing the assist for the winning goal against Sekhukhune United, helping Pirates secure the prestigious double triumph that season.
