Former Kaizer Chiefs Star Set for Big Financial Payout After Court Order

Humphrey Mlwane, the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, is set to receive a significant financial payout following a favourable ruling in his contract dispute with The Bees FC.

The PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) ruled in Mlwane’s favour on Monday, 13 April 2026. The chamber ordered The Bees FC to pay him the outstanding salaries for the remaining six months of his contract, amounting to over R191,000 (approximately E191,000).

Mlwane joined The Bees FC after successfully guiding the club to promotion from the ABC Motsepe League. He served as head coach and played a vital role in their rise to the Motsepe Foundation Championship. However, his tenure ended in November 2025 after just 12 matches in the new season, following a poor run of results.

At the time of his dismissal, six months remained on his contract. The club proposed paying him for only one month as settlement, an offer Mlwane rejected. He then took the matter to the PSL DRC for resolution.

Speaking after the verdict, a delighted Mlwane confirmed the outcome: “I have won the case against the club. They have to pay me my money. The case was taken to the National Soccer League Disciplinary Committee, and I have now won the case.”

He added that he felt disappointed about how his relationship with the club ended, especially after his hard work in securing promotion. Mlwane thanked his legal representative and agent for their support throughout the process.

The ruling highlights the importance of contract protection in South African football. Mlwane, who is now coaching Tabankulu Celtics in the Eswatini Premier League, can look forward to receiving his full dues soon.

This victory brings closure to the dispute and allows the experienced coach to focus on his new chapter in football.
