Former Kaizer Chiefs Player Joins UEFA Football Chasing Club

Beitar Jerusalem have strengthened their attacking options after completing the signing of Colombian striker Jasond Gonzalez ahead of the second half of the season. The Israeli Premier League leaders have secured the former Kaizer Chiefs forward on a loan deal from Bolivian side Always Ready, with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the agreement.

The 26-year-old arrives in Jerusalem in impressive form, having enjoyed a prolific spell in Bolivia. Gonzalez has scored 12 goals and provided one assist in 16 appearances for Always Ready, numbers that highlight his sharp finishing and growing influence in the final third. His performances have been central to his club’s attacking output and clearly attracted interest from Beitar Jerusalem’s scouting team.

Prior to his time in South America, Gonzalez also showcased his scoring ability in Asia during a stint with SJZ Gongfu, where he recorded five goals and two assists in 12 matches. That experience across different leagues underlines his adaptability, a quality Beitar will be counting on as they pursue domestic success.

Gonzalez is also familiar to South African football followers from his period at Kaizer Chiefs. While his time in the Premier Soccer League delivered mixed results, it contributed to his development and resilience. Since then, he has evolved into a more complete striker, combining physical strength with improved movement and composure in front of goal.

Beitar Jerusalem currently sit at the top of the Israeli Premier League standings and remain focused on sustaining their title challenge. The inclusion of an option-to-buy clause suggests the club views Gonzalez as a potential long-term asset, should he reproduce his recent scoring form.
