Sundowns Set Terms Amid Aris Limassol’s Interest in Maseko

Mamelodi Sundowns have drawn a firm line in the sand when it comes to the future of winger Thapelo Maseko, with sources confirming that Aris Limassol’s initial approach for the player has been turned down.

According to insiders familiar with the situation, the Cypriot outfit made contact to test the waters for a potential move, but Sundowns’ response was swift and decisive—Maseko is not for sale unless the offer meets their strict valuation criteria.

It’s understood that the DStv Premiership champions are open to negotiations, but only if the terms reflect the value they place on the 21-year-old, who has become a key figure in Rulani Mokwena’s squad. Maseko joined the Brazilians last year and has since grown into one of the most promising wide players in South African football, earning praise for his pace, directness, and tactical discipline.

While Aris Limassol are expected to come back with an improved offer, they will need to significantly up their bid to make any headway. Sundowns, who have been shrewd in their transfer dealings in recent seasons, are not in a position where they feel pressure to sell, especially with CAF Champions League ambitions on the horizon once again.

For now, Maseko remains focused on pre-season preparations with the Pretoria giants, and unless Limassol or any other suitor returns with a bid that truly turns heads, the winger is set to stay in Chloorkop—at least for the time being
