Orlando Pirates Still Keen to Sign Stellenbosch Defender Thabo Moloisane

Orlando Pirates are not done with their transfer business. The Soweto giants have already signed 12 new players ahead of the 2025/26 season but are still chasing one more target — Stellenbosch FC defender Thabo Moloisane.

According to Soccer Laduma, Pirates remain interested in bringing Moloisane to Mayfair. A club insider told the publication, "Orlando Pirates are still very much in for Moloisane. They are aware of his contract situation and are waiting to see how things unfold with Stellenbosch. He is one of the main targets."

Moloisane’s current contract with Stellenbosch FC only ends at the close of the next season. This means Pirates will need to either buy him now or wait until his contract ends in 2026 when he can move on a free transfer.

Moloisane has been one of the best defenders at Stellenbosch over the past two seasons and could strengthen Pirates' backline. However, moving to a big club like Orlando Pirates comes with high expectations and pressure.

Despite that, Pirates are determined to bring in quality players to challenge for trophies in the upcoming season. The club’s busy transfer window shows their intention to build a strong squad, and Moloisane is clearly part of their plans.

It remains to be seen whether Stellenbosch will agree to let go of their star defender or risk losing him for free next year. For now, Pirates are keeping a close eye on the situation, hoping to get the deal done before the season kicks off
