Kaizer Chiefs Could Sign Up to Six Bafana Bafana Players

Kaizer Chiefs are preparing for a big season ahead, and they could end up with a much stronger team if they manage to sign a few Bafana Bafana stars. The club had a disappointing 2024/25 season, finishing ninth in the Betway Premiership. They only won the Nedbank Cup, and that was not enough to satisfy the fans or new coach Nasreddine Nabi. That’s why Nabi has asked the management to provide funds to bring in better players for the next season.

Chiefs have been linked with a number of Bafana Bafana players. One of the names that has come up repeatedly is Oswin Appollis, the quick and skilful winger from Polokwane City. He has been on Chiefs’ radar for nearly two years, and it seems likely he will move away from his current club soon. The big question is whether he will choose to join the Soweto giants.

Another name that stands out is Sphephelo “Yaya” Sithole. Reports suggest that Chiefs are serious about bringing him back to South Africa. The club is believed to have made efforts to convince the midfielder to consider a move to Naturena.

Mihlali Mayambela is also reportedly interested in joining Chiefs. He currently plays in Europe for Aris Limassol but has recently been linked with a return to South Africa. Sources say he is eager to join Amakhosi.

Fawaaz Basadien, a left-back from Stellenbosch, is another target. Chiefs tried to sign him before, but their offer was rejected. However, a better deal might convince Stellenbosch to sell him this time around.

If Chiefs succeed in signing these players, their starting eleven could look impressive. It would include Bruce Bvuma in goal, a strong defence led by Basadien, and a midfield featuring Yaya Sithole and Thabo Cele. Up front, they could have Appollis, Mayambela, and Ashley Du Preez leading the attack.
