Chiefs' Midfield Target Completes Move To Soweto Rivals Orlando Pirates

Masindi Nemtajela, a standout midfielder for Marumo Gallants, has been signed by Orlando Pirates, a club that faced stiff competition. With an eye on competing for a midfield spot in the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season, the 23-year-old will join the Soweto giants' pre-season group in June.

In the 2024–25 season, Nemtajela played a pivotal role for Gallants, who advanced to the Nedbank Cup semi-finals and remained in the PSL. Major league clubs took notice of his one goal and two assists in twenty appearances. Not only did Pirates want him, but so did Stellenbosch FC, Sekhukhune United, and Kaizer Chiefs. With the confirmation of the transaction by Gallants' coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, the Pirates raced ahead and won.

The rising sensation from Soweto has taken a giant leap forward with what is reportedly a five-year contract, consisting of four years with an option for an additional year. It will be difficult for Nemtajela to do his job at Pirates. With players like Goodman Mosele, Simphiwe Selepe, Makhehlele Makhaula, and Thalente Mbatha, the midfield is brimming with talent. He has to give it his all if he wants to stand out in this cutthroat field.

During preseason, he will get the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities to the coaches. He may not receive the starting nod this season, but he should still see plenty of action next year to show what he can do. Various sources have confirmed the longer five-year agreement, while others have referred to the deal as "as good as done" and indicated a three-year term. This signing has fans quite excited.

Numerous posters on X have expressed their enthusiasm for Nemtajela, describing him as a promising young player who may liven up the Pirates' midfield. Many feel the Chiefs are utterly disappointed to have missed out, particularly in light of their previous failed attempts to sign players like Fiston Mayele. The Pirates are preparing for the future with this move, and Nemtajela's enthusiasm and youth could be the difference.

However, there are some bumps in the road. The expectations at a club like Pirates are through the roof, and Nemtajela must demonstrate that he can manage them. He needs to put in a lot of work in training this offseason if he wants to be a star. The notion of him dominating the midfield is already in the minds of the fans, but he will have to work for every opportunity.

Is he going to step up to the challenge or blend in with the rest of the Pirates roster? Leave a comment with your opinions and we may discuss it! Congratulations to Nemtajela on his huge move! I'm hoping he has an amazing PSL season with the Buccaneers next year.
