Ncikazi took charge of the Buccaneers for the final three matches of the current season after Riveiro requested an early release. The Spanish coach’s departure is linked to a move to a new club, widely expected to be Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

In a recent interview quoted by Ayanda Nyuswa, Ncikazi revealed his acceptance of the uncertainty surrounding his position. “Like I said I’m wired differently,” he stated. “I’m working at Pirates – if I’m there, good enough. If I’m not there, and it’s decided, I’m still good enough. I’m just happy with the contribution that I’m making in the club and \[being] appreciated by the club.”
