Club insiders say that the board and administration are unhappy with the consistent results from their scouting in South America. The club's expectations for player performance have not been routinely met, despite substantial financial and logistical efforts. The Brazilians have been busy signing South American stars like Arthur Sales, Matias Esquivel, Lucas Suarez, and Erwin Saavedra in the past several seasons.

There have been some promising performances from these athletes, but overall, they have failed to meet the lofty expectations that were set for them. The club is reportedly trying to limit scouting trips to South American countries, according to a source who spoke to the media. It seems like they hold themselves to a higher standard than before, and everyone else has failed to meet it—except for a select few.

That is why they intend to implement a new strategy beginning with the upcoming season. Sundowns have a history of finding great talent in West Africa and elsewhere in Africa, according to a second source, and are now contemplating a return to that region for scouting.
