Amakhosi Striker Linked With Shock Return to Zambia

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly considering the departure of Congolese forward Christian Saile Basomboli, who has struggled to make a significant impact since joining the club in January 2023. Saile, 25, has managed only six goals in 49 league appearances, leading to growing speculation about his future at Naturena.

Recent reports suggest that Nchanga Rangers, Saile's former club in Zambia, have expressed interest in re-signing him. The Zambian outfit is reportedly keen on a loan deal to bolster their attacking options in the MTN Super League, where they are currently facing challenges. An insider revealed, "The Zambian team has enquired about getting him on loan so that he can help the team... since Nchanga Rangers is also struggling, they feel he could help them."

Kaizer Chiefs, aiming to revitalize their squad during the January transfer window, may view Saile's departure as an opportunity to free up space for new signings. The club has been linked with several attacking players, including Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum and Uruguayan forward Gastón Sirino, as they seek to enhance their offensive capabilities.

While a loan move to Nchanga Rangers appears to be a viable option, Chiefs might prefer a permanent transfer to facilitate their restructuring plans. The insider added, "If there is a club that would say they want to sign him permanently, that's what Chiefs would like."

Saile's potential exit underscores the challenges he has faced in adapting to the South African Premier Division. Despite his previous success in Zambia, where he was a top scorer for Nchanga Rangers, he has been unable to replicate that form with the Amakhosi. As the transfer window progresses, both Saile and Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to make decisions that best serve their respective futures.
